Notorious rainforest destroyer Duta Palma is razing tens of thousands of hectares of primary lowland forest in the Sambas District of Indonesia. The Indigenous Dayak still live in close connection with their forests and ancestral territories. Their once rich forest livelihoods have been taken by Duta Palma, without their consent or compensation. Many community leaders have been jailed in acts of protest, but the devastation of their sacred forests continues.
